A soft pack is ready-to-eat outdoor food that comes in a pouch, which means it has slightly more weight than canned goods but takes up considerably less space in your pack. Soft packs can be eaten cold in an emergency but are more enjoyable when warmed up, prepared on a portable stove. Therefore, soft packs are excellent to bring along on hikes or other outdoor adventures.
