Norwegian manufacturer Bergans is one of the leaders when it comes to creating the stuff we need for doing what we love. In other words, Bergans offers you a rather complete range of great products for outdoor activities. Bergans has its roots in adventure. Ole F. Bergan invented and patented the first frame backpack in 1908. We equipped Amundsen who was the first to the South Pole, Hillary on his first ascent of Mount Everest and Shackleton on his adventure. No other manufacturer can match the knowledge that we have gained from the expeditions to the polar regions. It is our heritage and a part of our history. Our long history has given us invaluable knowledge of how we design clothes and equipment for extreme environments. It is the knowledge that we use when we design tents and sleeping bags and our wide collection of clothing for the outdoors, skiing, hunting, lifestyle and children and youth.
