Norrøna is a family-owned Norwegian outdoor company founded in 1929. Driven by the needs of polar explorers, freeride skiers, mountaineers and adventurers, they make premium outdoor gear with the nature as their lab.
Our vision is Welcome to nature. Nature is our motivation, our playground and the driving force of what we do. Inspired by the unpredictable yet magical wilderness of Norway, our mission is to create high-end products made as clean as possible with all critical details, so everyone can enjoy nature.
Our heritage - In 1929, outdoor enthusiast Jørgen Jørgensen began his quest to create the ultimate outdoor products. Today, four generations later, Norrøna is still a family-owned Norwegian company. Founded on love for nature, environmental responsibility has been in the DNA since the very beginning. We believe the only way to run a company is with a sustainable platform and every day we strive to improve, explore and inspire to protect our home.
Our test team - Since the very beginning, our philosophy has been to embrace the knowledge and experience of the ones at the core. That’s why we always work closely with our versatile team of ambassadors, testers, and adventurers when developing our products. Many of our styles are direct results of close co-operation and long processes to ensure we equip them and you with functional, high-quality products.
Our craftsmanship - The craftsmanship of product development has always been an essential foundation. From concept to creation, all products are designed in-house at the Norrøna House right outside Oslo, Norway. Most of our products have a three-year design process which enables hours and hours of testing, adjustments, testing and more adjustment before they’re ready to go on adventures with their new owners.
Our responsibility - As a company established on love for nature, environmental responsibility has been in the DNA since the very beginning. Ethical trade and sustainability are essential in all parts of our value chain. We are completely transparent about our processes to keep pushing ourselves towards reducing our environmental footprint and creating a positive impact.
