The Gästrikeleden takes you to several of Gästrikland's most beautiful natural areas. At the same time, you move through a fascinating part of Sweden's industrial history. The traces are visible everywhere - mine pits, charcoal kilns, blast furnaces, forges. Some of the industrial sites still have activities today, while others are slowly being reclaimed by nature. This book describes the trail's 290 kilometers divided into 17 stages. You will also find tips for day trips that allow you to easily experience the best that the trail has to offer. The book is also full of facts and stories about the places and people who have influenced the landscape's development. The author, Gunnika Isaksson-Lutteman, is a freelance writer and photographer. She has previously written the books "Vandra Roslagsleden" and "Vandra Upplandsleden".
