A gas stove is easy to use and is the perfect tool to bring along for cooking and making coffee during your outdoor adventures. The gas stove has a shorter cooking time compared to, for example, an alcohol stove, which makes it very quick and convenient to use. In our range, you will find gas stoves in several different models from well-known brands such as Primus, MSR, and Optimus.
Gas Stove
When you are spending a whole day in the mountains, a gas stove is the perfect tool to bring along for cooking food or brewing coffee. Gas stoves are effective, quiet, affordable, and work great when you need a stove that's easy to handle. At Outnorth, you can choose from gas stoves from well-known brands like Primus, MSR, and Optimus.
Difference between top-mounted and spider model
Here you will find top-mounted stoves and so-called spider stoves. The difference between these two types of gas stoves is that the top-mounted stove has the gas canister fixed at the bottom and is built upwards with pots, while the gas canister for the spider stove stands separately next to it with a hose between the gas and the burner. The spider stove is somewhat more effective if you are going on snowy adventures, as it has a burner that heats up the gas. A tip is to keep the gas inside your jacket so it stays warm, which facilitates use in cold weather. Most models are easy to light as they are equipped with a piezo igniter. You just turn on the gas and press a button that generates a spark and the stove is on. You should still always bring a lighter or matches when you're adventuring, in case the piezo igniter should fail.
Choose a model based on your adventure
We recommend you to choose a gas stove that matches your adventure. If you are going to walk long distances and need to pack lightly, then choose a gas stove that fits in small spaces. If you are going camping and driving to the campsite, you can bring a more advanced gas stove. Here you will find stoves for different occasions; if a gas stove doesn't suit you, you can check out our other camping stoves available at Outnorth.
