Aerostat Down 7.0 Mat Long is a comfortable yet lightweight down-filled sleeping pad for tours and expeditions in all seasons with Exped's construction patent. Mountain Equipment has further developed the construction by merging this patent with their sleeping bag construction method.
Inside the TPU-laminated vertical chambers, Helix mesh chambers are welded in place to hold the down securely. This prevents down migration over time and ensures a higher fill density. This method significantly increases insulation properties. The Aerostat Down uses a strong 30 denier ripstop polyester with TPU coating. The TPU chambers inside are reinforced to prevent delamination.
The storage bag also serves as an integrated pump. By turning the storage bag inside out, you get a new windsock pump that is shorter and wider for easier inflation of the pad in smaller tents. This allows for very efficient inflation of the pad and inflates it with 4-5 breaths. Inside the storage bag, there is also a small pocket for a service kit. Self-adhesive patches for sealing holes are included for the journey.
