Aerostat Down 7.0 Mat Wide Regular is a sleeping pad with down based on Exped technology. Mountain Equipment has further developed the pad with a chamber system they call Helix. This chamber system runs lengthwise in the vertical down chambers. Helix is a spiral with mesh that helps keep the down in place and ensures higher pressure density, significantly increasing the insulation value of the pad.

The pad uses a durable and lightweight 30 denier ripstop polyester outer fabric with TPU coating. All walls are laminated, and the TPU chambers inside are also reinforced to prevent delamination under heavy load. The Aerostat inflates quickly with the included windstock, which is connected to the stuff sack. This minimizes moisture in the pad.
