MSR Elixir 4 is a stable and comfortable 3-season tent for 4 people. This tent combines spaciousness, good headroom, and user-friendly features, and is equally suitable for family trips, weekend trips in the forest and countryside, as well as lighter mountain expeditions.

Elixir 4 has straight walls and good headroom that create a spacious feel inside the tent. This makes it easier to move around, change clothes, and store equipment – even in bad weather. The large entrances on the long sides provide easy access to the inner tent and vestibules, where you can store backpacks, boots, and other equipment. The inner tent has a large opening and many mesh pockets for storing small items. Loops in the ceiling make it easy to hang lanterns or a clothesline. The mesh panels provide good ventilation and help reduce condensation for a better night's sleep.

Elixir tents are built with a durable rainfly that withstands wear from rocks, roots, and harsh weather. Although the tent is not supplied with snow flaps, the open construction provides good ventilation and less condensation inside the tent. The rainfly can be partially rolled back for extra ventilation or shade – practical in sunny areas during summer. The freestanding geometry creates a taut and stable tent that stands firmly even in wind.

The tent is easy to pitch thanks to color-coded tent poles and grommets that match each other. You can also set up the tent in several configurations:
