Attache Bar Carabiner from Petzl is a carabiner suitable for climbing, alpine climbing, and glacier travel. It helps keep the carabiner correctly oriented in the harness and reduces the risk of cross-loading when belaying or moving along a rope line.

With the removable BAR positioning piece, the carabiner becomes directional and is rotated so that it is loaded along its major axis, providing more controlled handling during belaying or when using a rope on glaciers. Without the positioning piece, it functions as a regular pear-shaped belay carabiner with a round basket profile that allows the rope to run smoothly, whether you use an Italian hitch (Munter hitch) or a tube-style belay device. The screw-lock provides clear and easy handling even with gloves, and the Keylock design reduces the risk of the carabiner snagging on ropes, slings, or gear loops.
