Bar from Petzl is a small positioning bar for climbing carabiners, designed for use in belaying and glacier rope travel. It helps you keep the carabiner in the correct position so that the load is placed along the main axis and reduces the risk of incorrect loading.

The bar is fitted onto an Attache screw-lock carabiner and can be removed when needed. When closed, it provides extra security by preventing the gate sleeve from being accidentally unscrewed. It also cannot be closed unless the gate is fully locked, helping you detect a common handling error before leaving the ground.
