The stretchy material follows the child's movements when they swim, run, and dig in the sand, and the half-length sleeves together with the longer back hem provide more coverage over the shoulders, back, and lower back. Flat seams reduce the risk of chafing against the skin, and the quick-drying fabric makes the shirt practical to use both in the water and between swims. Please note that the sun protection is reduced if the fabric becomes very stretched, wet, or worn, so always combine it with sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses.
