Racing Roto Steel XC 70 mm from SWIX® is a rotating steel brush for women and men for cross-country skiing. The tool is used to thoroughly clean the ski base and remove dirt as well as residue from old glide wax before new waxing begins.

With an effective roto brush, work in the waxing room becomes much more efficient, saving valuable time and energy compared with traditional manual brushing. The fine steel brush reaches deep into the base and opens up the ski base structure, which improves the base’s ability to absorb hot wax for smooth and long-lasting glide in the track. The modular 70 mm format makes it possible to combine the steel brush with, for example, a horsehair or nylon brush on the same 140 mm roto handle. To achieve an even result, the brush is attached via a compatible handle to a standard drill with a recommended speed of at least 1,800 rpm, after which the brush is moved in overlapping strokes from tip to tail. In addition to cross-country skis, the brush also works well for maintenance and opening the structure of alpine skis and snowboards.
