Tyrolia is based in Schwechat, Austria, and was founded in 1847 under the name Wiener Metallwaren-, Schnallen- und Maschinenfabrik GmbH. The company manufactured its first ski binding in 1928, and the first model under the Tyrolia brand was launched in 1949 when industrial production began.
Since then, Tyrolia has continuously developed its products through research and technical innovation. The company has a strong presence in both competitive skiing and freeriding, and their bindings are used by skiers at all levels.
Today, Tyrolia represents a significant share of the global market for ski bindings. Approximately one-third of all bindings sold internationally are developed and manufactured by Tyrolia, which exports about 90% of its production to subsidiaries and retailers worldwide.
