The founder of Mares, the croatian Luduvico Mares, was only 21 years old when i created his first scuba diving mask, using only a car tire inner tube and glass. After this Mares continued to show interest for the ocean and scuba diving and in 1949 he founded Mares in Italy. Throughout the following years Ludovico would pantent a lot of inventions that revolutionized the scuba diving sport. Now, 70 years later, Mares is one of the worlds largest producer of scuba diving equipment.
